Lake Como is considered a very intimate and private
place, probably because it is not wide and the
mountains falling into its waters combined with the
fact that both sides of the lake are very near each other
gives the visitors a feeling of protection, of intimacy.
And in this sensation, the villa called Casa
dell’Architetto plays an active role.
Located above the water, this villa can accommodate
only two people, who can take advantage of this
peaceful lake corner to rest and enjoy the lake from the
huge window glass of the dining room.
Casa dell’Architetto is located in Sala Comacina, in
front of the only island of Lake Como, at 13 miles
north of Como and only 7 miles from Golf Club
Menaggio.
In one of the most secluded situations, this house sits
directly on the principal shore of the lake. The
panorama is one of the most romantic in the region
with the nearby, small island of Comacina in theforeground and passing over the water to the Grigno
Dolomite in the background. Behind the house, olive
groves lead up to higher, alpine meadows- a paradise
for walkers. A path leads in a few minutes to the
village square where there are restaurants and shops.
The most spectacular aspect of the Casa dell' Architetto
is the floor to ceiling, wall to wall picture window in
the first floor sitting room which gives the impression
of being aboard a liner on the lake. The constant
changing colours as the light plays with the waves is a
magnet to those seeking tranquility. Set into a small
gulf of Lake Como, swans, ducks and kingfishers are
attracted to this sheltered spot.
Sitting/dining room and island kitchen having cooker,
oven and fridge. On the lower level is a twin-bedded
room with lake view and access directly onto the shore.
One bathroom with WC etc. Car parking is a few
meters away.
